Ranchi: A strange situation prevails in Jharkhand Police Department these days. 63 police officers who have been promoted from Inspector to DSP in the state have not been able to get new responsibility till now. DSP’s star has been put on the shoulder, but even today they are working like Inspector in the offices. Salary and facilities are also being given at Inspector level till now.
List has been prepared, order not received
Departmental sources say that the list of posting and transfer is ready, but the ‘green signal’ is awaited from above. The process will start as soon as the order is received. Apart from these 63 promoted officers, there are also 39 newly appointed DSPs, whose training has been completed. That is, a total of 102 DSPs are waiting for posting.
Possibility of major reshuffle
If sources are to be believed, not only new DSPs, but also officers already holding the post will be transferred. It is estimated that there will be reshuffle in about 200 DSP level posts. This list is awaiting the approval of Home, Prison and Disaster Management Department and Minister.
IPS officers also in waiting
Interestingly, not only DSPs, but IPS officers are also waiting for posting. These include ADG Suman Gupta of 1997 batch, Dr. Ehtesham Wakarib of 2015 batch, Deepak Kumar Pandey and Animesh Naithani of 2016 batch, and Manoj Swargiari of 2018 batch. All of them are waiting for posting since May 27. However, to ensure that they get salary, the department has issued compulsory waiting certificate.
