Bermo: The shade of Bokaro Thermal Power Plant is being transported to the newly constructed four-lane through Hirak Road via Fusro-Janamod Road. Due to violation of rules in shade transportation, over-loaded transportation, use of torn tarpaulin, the shade is falling on the roads. Due to this, when vehicles move, the shade flies all over the road, which reaches people’s homes and food. The pollution caused by this is troubling the passersby along with about 2 lakh population on the roadside.
Dozens of people including Shivanandan Mishra, Ratan Verma, resident of Tantri, Brajesh Mishra, Vishnu Sao, Baldev Sao, Pawan Mishra, Jitendra Mishra, Omkar Mishra, Madan Pal said that due to the pollution of shade, respiratory diseases are increasing in people. Skin diseases and eye irritation also occur. The number of patients of skin diseases and heart diseases including asthma is increasing in this area. According to the people, about 2000 people in this area are suffering from some disease or the other. Even the water of the well and pond gets muddy. Dust is getting accumulated in the utensils kept in the kitchen including the verandah and rooms of the house. The effect of muddy water is visible even inside the almirah. 
SDO said – will investigate pollution and take action. Bermo’s subdivisional officer Ashok Kumar said that after investigating the pollution case, initiative will be taken to stop it. Action will be taken against the department and transporter who disobey it. Here, Bokaro Thermal, Power Plant’s project head Anand Mohan Prasad said that there are strict instructions in Chhai transportation that no Hiva should run without tarpaulin, otherwise action will be taken.
People said – Transporting should be done at night by following the rules. Local people said that coal is transported from Hiva to Balidih railway siding. Whereas there are about a dozen railway sidings in Bermo coal area, but to trouble the public, pollution is being spread by transporting coal from the coal area through Fusro-Jainamod route with torn tarpaulin and in some Hiva without tarpaulin. People said that if Chhai pollution is not stopped, then there will be agitation. If Chhai has to be transported, then it should be done by closing it in a container. Overloading should not be done. Transportation should be done at night and that too as per the rules and should be done along with sprinkling of water.
