Bokaro News: The three-day 20th Jharkhand State Level Police Shooting Competition 2025-26 began on Thursday at the firing range of the JAP-4 ground in Sector 12, Bokaro. The competition was inaugurated by the chief guest, IG Sunil Bhaskar (North Chotanagpur Range). He said that it is essential for the police to be proficient in the use of their weapons to curb crime and maintain law and order. He added that it is also a powerful means of testing one’s own skills. JAP-4 Commandant Shambhu Kumar Singh said that the competition will feature various shooting positions using 5.56 mm INSAS rifles, 9 mm pistols/.380 revolvers, and 9 mm carbines. Approximately 180 participants from eight ranges are taking part. The participants include shooters from JAP, IRB, SIRB, SISF, Jharkhand Jaguar, CID, and Railways. Mr. Singh said that players from Santhal Pargana Range, Palamu Range, Jharkhand Armed Police (JAP) Range, Coal Range, South Chotanagpur Range, Kolhan Range, North Chotanagpur Range, and the Mixed Range (Jaguar, Railways, and CID) are performing with full potential. The selected participants from this competition will participate in the All India Police Shooting Competition. Present on the occasion were DIG CRPF Amit Kumar Singh, SP Harvinder Singh, JAP-3 Commandant Manoj Swargiyari, JAP-6 Commandant Rajesh Kumar, SI Dilip Gurung, Reader Om Prakash Rai, and dozens of other police officers and personnel. In the AIPDM rifle competition, the results for the 100-yard standing position were: First – Constable Varun Mukhiya (Jharkhand Police), Second – Constable Rakesh Prajapati (Jharkhand Jaguar), Third – Sub-Inspector Premchandra Bhagat (Jharkhand Jaguar). In the 200-yard kneeling position, the results were: First – Constable Deonarayan Prajapati (Jharkhand Police), Second – Constable Gautam Kumar (Jharkhand Police), Third – Sub-Inspector Osho Pradeep (Coal Range). In the 300-yard lying position event, Constable Vipul Kumar (Jharkhand Jaguar) secured first place, Constable Parvez Khan (North Chotanagpur) came in second, and Havildar Ranjit Kumar Rao (Jharkhand Jaguar) finished third. Participants were showcasing their skills in the 300-yard snap shooting and 300-meter center fire (three positions) events.
