Bokaro: Incidents of bike theft were increasing rapidly in Bokaro city and surrounding areas for some time. This increasing criminal activity was creating fear in the minds of people. When this news reached the ears of Superintendent of Police Manoj Swargiary, he took it very seriously. The Superintendent of Police formed an SIT under the supervision of City DSP Alok Ranjan. This team conducted research on the basis of secret information, technical evidence and CCTV footage and arrested two notorious vehicle thieves.
The arrested criminals were named as Mohd. Parvez and Mohd. Masoom Ansari. Both confessed that they had stolen many bikes from Bokaro urban area and surrounding areas. During the police action, 45 bikes of different companies were recovered from their possession. They had hidden these bikes in Kathara, Tenughat, Gomia and Petarwar police station areas. These vehicles were being used for illegal coal transportation and other illegal activities after theft।

The SP has appealed to the general public to park their vehicles at safe places, use extra locks and make maximum use of CCTV cameras. Shopkeepers, schools, colleges and other establishments have also been advised to install cameras for surveillance.
